Fen Group go where others fear to tread!

RSPB Minsmere is probably the highest profile reserve operated by the Charity and a regular host of the BBC's Spring Watch series of television programmes.

Fen Group were delighted to win a two-year contract to help the RSPB improve the habitat of the reserve, by encouraging existing Bittern numbers to increase and strengthen the UK population of this rare wetland bird. The difficulty of achieving the challenging specification required by the RSPB was further illustrated by the fact that most of the other contractors invited to tender for the work declined to submit a tender, which as a bit worrying!

Working deep within a large and unstable reed bed was always going to be high risk operation but with good planning and utilisation of the Fen Group's extensive experience and specialist plant adapted to suit these conditions, the work has now been completed with great success.
